Marie,

On my Airstreams, removal of the tambour door requires unscrewing the 
half
circle curved piece of aluminum that houses the tambour when the door is
opened.

Once that curved piece is free, the tambour material is easily 
accessible.

There may be others on the list who have a different set up. I'm sure
they'll reply.
