Hi David, Did you check for a proper grounded wire and power in the hot lead to = the light? Loose connections get hot, corrode, etc. My '74 Argosy uses the shell as ground for all fixtures. :( The '69 = Safari uses ground wires! :) Hope this points you in the right direction, Regards, Joy
