[VAC] fiberglassing question.

I'm about to try to fabricate some parts for my
trailer.  BUT before I do, I've got some questions.

is an un-painted fiberglass piece translucent?

I'm thinking that I want to fabricate an original
looking 14x26 vent cover, and an original looking
interior ceiling light shade.

both have what appears to be fibers in them, and both
are (obviously) translucent.
