[VAC] Removing Furnace

While we are on the subject of Furnaces....  :-)

Is it possible to remove the Furnace in my '77 Sovereign without having to 
take apart the entire sink cabinet?

The furnace is located under the sink, and it looks like I have to remove 
the cabinet from around it in order to get at the duct and furnace cabinet 
screws, due to there being a shelf right above it. That shelf is, in turn, 
riveted to the sides of the sink cabinet.

The screws holding the ductwork to the furnace are in the rear of the 
ductwork, and impossible to get at because of the aforementioned shelf.

Any sage advice would be gladly welcomed.
