Bob,

You are correctly informed.  My wife went out in the rain one time to open the
black water valve, and forgot to close it.  A couple of days later I went out to
empty the (full) tank, only to find the valve open already.  The only way to
clear the clog was for one person to stand on the pedal while the other reached
down and cleared the clog.  Guess who's reach is longer.

NOT PLEASANT!
