[VAC] Re: PJM-> floors and water tank problems

Ted ,
The old tank is the mold , if you or a fiberglass guy make it . Or get some
styrofoam ( the blue kind used for floats ) and an electric knife , cut to
shape , glass that , wax it . Then lay up the bottom and trim around top with
grinder.Take mold out . Then lay-up a flat sheet , grind that to fit bottom
part , then glass the top to the bottom , and add laminations till its as thick
as you want .Use laminating resin and add styrene for the final coat . Cut
holes for vents , and inlet /outlet . Boat catalogs have thru hull fittings for
the vents which are bedded in 3M 5200 caulk (really good stuff to have around
airstreams or boats ! ) Many custom tanks are made here for the fishing
industry . Lots of fiberglass guys around here because we make/repair alot
of boats here . Might not be so many where you live , so it might be hard to
beat Inlands or All-rites price , even tho the mold costs have to be "
amortized ". Might be hard to beat they`re price even here , unless you had a
buddy in the business or did it yourself
