Pete,
Your problems are exactly what I experienced with my 67 Safari but 
lacking the equipment and expertise to repair the rear end I took my 
trailer to the A/S plant and they did it all! I leave Tues. to pick it 
up and I plan on asking a lot of questions about the repair. I'll get 
back to you on  my return! They told me that the bolts had rusted 
through and the shell wasn't even attached to the frame at the rear!
