[VAC] Re: Water Heater re-visted

	I would replace the whole thing- like Jim, I replaced the
valve, burner tube and pilot assembly on my '78- only to have the tank
go a few months later (mine was an 8 gallon tank which is no longer
available).
	I actually prefer the standard pilot type 6 gallon, which is
the cheapest and should be a drop in replacement -other than some
modifications to the door, maybe. The new unit will come with a white
door- on my '78 the old aluminum door fit perfectly, but it only has
one latch in the center. IIRC, my '75 had a door with two latches- one
on either side.
