Keith,
The wire feeding the A/C probably runs to the fuse/breaker panel by
itself. IE:, it's not part of another 120VAC circuit. If so, you should
be able to disconnect it at the panel and reconnect it to the 12VDC
circuitry. You also might be able to connect the fan to a nearby 12V
light fixture...
