[VAC] Astrodome alternative

My '62 Globe Trotter did not have a large vent cover when I bought it (had
been replaced with fixed clear plexi), so I'm using the lift screw
mechanisms from an extra 14 x 14 Hehr vent along with a custom frame made of
light guage stainless angle (from sheet metal shop -18 guage) and 3/16"
white Lexan center panel riveted (ss rivets and backup washers) and sealed
thoroughly with Vulkem.  Hinges attach to metal frame portion.  Frame will
polish up to a mirror shine, no white will show from ground level on the
outside after caulking.  Don't know exact final cost, but I think I'll come
out cheaper than the replacement dome (if I don't count my time ... details,
details).
