[VAC] Re: 1972 Tradewind Finish

I have a 1972 Tradewind with the typical peeling of plasticoat and streaks
of slightly oxidized aluminum.  I was planning on stripping the remaining
plasticoat and polishing the whole thing with Rolite.  The service
department of a former  Airstream dealer has told me that no amount of
polishing will make the aluminum all look the same.  He explained that the
oxidation can be removed and the finish might look "similar", but that an
all over shiny finish is not possible.  Is this correct?  I was hoping to
really put a shine on this baby!
