         Well- the battery is actually supposed to be part of the Univolt 
circuit- the way it is designed depends on the battery being there.

         That said- most typical 12 volt loads are lighting loads, and they 
will not know the difference, but the electronics will. You can get a 
50,000 MFD, 15 volt capacitor and hook it up to the battery leads, and it 
will serve the purpose- I think you can find these at car stereo stores 
(the stores that sell the BOOM.. BOOM.. BOOM type stereos  ;)
