Jim,

Is it possible that the trailer is pre-wired for speakers?  They were
probably an option in those days, and if dealer installed, I would
expect that the cabling would have been tucked away inside the structure
for the dealer's use.  The neat trick would be to find out where the
other (speaker) end(s) are under the inner skin.  Might drill out a
couple of rivets near the front corners and peek in under there.
