Ron,

Are you sure the screen covered hole is under the refrigerator? Or is it under the heater? My '57 Caravanner has a screen covered 2" diameter hole under its propane heater to guarantee good flow of air for combustion. That hole also has a movable cover on the inside (in the floor of the heater) so it can be closed when no air is desired.
