Fred & Michael,
 One thing to look for is the position of the pump vs. the city water
connection. In my A/S, the pump was in the front, the city water hookup
in the rear. I had to do the blowdown from both ends; the pump had a
Schrader valve on it, making it easy. I went back and forth several
times to be certain I had all the water out.
