Good question. Don't know if this answers it or not, but I have hooked up my tow vehicle before while trailer was hooked up to shore power. Maybe dumb luck that I didn't have something go wrong, but it worked fine. I had to hook up the tow vehicle to get enough juice to operate the trailer jack, didn't even think of disconnecting shore power because my trailer battery was so weak. Maybe we both could get a good answer from Gerald Johnson. Bobby
