[VAC] Re: Polyurethane on Plywood Floor?

Sand it a bit to make it smooth, expect dings to show up from heels or
dropped frying pans, because the plywood isn't that hard. Back about
1950 my dad looked at the pine tongue and groove flooring he'd just laid
in his bedroom planning to cover it with linoleum or carpet and liked
the grain so well he gave it a couple layers of spar varnish which has
worn off in the paths, but the floor is still quite nice, and has
tighter joints than the oak floors in other rooms laid the same year.

If you like the wood grain, polyurethane should be fine. You can also
consider painting it in colors imitating tile patterns or whatever
inspires you the day you select the paint and apply it, or even apply a
marbleizing kit to imitate marble stonework.

Any of these won't be original, but its your feet and eyes that will
feel and see it most of the time. Make yourself happy. The rest of the
world will have to accept it or volunteer to do it over.
