[VAC] Re: Water Pump

Don,
The pump is very simple, electrically. You should have 2 wires coming
to the pump, there should be 12VDC between them. Use a heavy test light
to check for power, as a meter can lead you astray. One of those wires
goes directly to the motor, the other goes through the pressure switch
(mounted on the pump) to the other motor lead. You should have power
between the "common" lead that goes directly to the motor and the
"switched" lead that comes from the pressure switch.

The pump is probably fed from a fuse someplace, or perhaps a circuit
breaker, depending on model. You'll need to trace it out if you don't
have power at the pump. Check between the common (usually white) wire
and the 2 wires on the switch. One should be "hot" all the time, the
other will go "hot" when you click the switch to "on".

Dunno if you've seen my recommendation on Barre's book, "Managing 12
Volts". It should be on everyone's bookshelf.
