I must have lost the original message on this, but it might be worth an
attempt, if the insurance company is insistent on totaling the rig, to buy
the 'remains' from them.

I did this once with a camper that was totaled, and the cost to restore it
was actually less than the net amount they paid me (their payoff minus the
amount I paid them for the carcass).

I'm sure that won't be the case with a totaled A/S, but it might offset some
of the restoration costs.
