[VAC] Re: CAR RADIO
Hi Suzie:
Auto motive wiring usually is Red to positive. Black to negative. So I would
assume the red wire is your hot or positive power in. The alum. wire is most
likely a ground that you could try attaching to the metal chassis of the
radio. If the radio has a black/negative wire that will have to be grounded
also. Assuming that your house battery is grounded negative to the trailer.
Also it may have a wire for maintaining your preset stations and clock. That
wire may be yellow. That should be hooked to positive.
Be aware that when hooked up these radios are always on in the preset side to
keep the clock set. So over a long period of nonuse of the trailer they can
discharge your house battery. If you are not concerned about the clock
function put a toggle switch in that side of the circuit.
Speaker wires will be solids and stripes that match. Like gray (+ speaker
side) solid matches gray/black striped (- speaker side) etc.
I hope this helps.
