[VAC] Re: furnace

I was able to get the furnace running yesterday by following the advise of
Clyde Wagner who is here at Region 4 with his wife and their 1963 Bambi. He
suggested that the furnace might not be getting any power. I checked it out
and found that the technician who installed my furnace last spring could not
splice a wire so that it would stay connected. This got me suspicious so I
checked out the rest of its wiring since there are both 12V (battery) wires
and 120V (city power) wires present in the area, and the modern furnace only
uses 12V.

I do not think that I will go back to Camping World in Medina, OH for
service. The guy took the 120V neutral wire and used it as a 12V ground! The
only reason it worked is that the furnace was grounded through its contact
with the skin!

I bet you this is why my trailer would trip GFI outlets!
