Usually if you have one HW tank leak, you have many more just about to happen, usually the result of electrolytic action from the tank metal, hot water and the minerals in certain waters.
The usual solution is the replace the HW heater burner/tank with a standard RV 6 gal Atwood or Suburban unit (minus the door/flange), mounted just inside of the existing exterior vent shroud.
