Jeff,
Although I'm not an expert on raising an
Airstream trailer, I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night; so what I
would do is to locate 4-5 stout pieces of lumber (depending on length of
trailer), say 4" x 4"s or better and run them width wise under the trailer,
evenly spaced.
I would then use a hydraulic floor jack under
the front board, centered, and raise it by 4-5". Place blocks or floor
jacks under the ends of the board you just raised, lower the jack,
move it to the rear board, center the floor jack and do the same
procedure. Do this on the remaining boards under the unit and
continue until the unit is raised evenly to say 4". Go back
now and raise the front by 4" more, until
the trailer is up to a comfortable height, preferably less
than 20".
I've done this before with old cars and it is
reliable and safe. Remember, stout lumber is the key.
