[VAC] frame painting

I recommend using POR15 http://www.por15.com/ for the frame. I've used it on my car restorations with good results. It is designed for rusty metal or can be used over sandblasted metal to seal the surface and when dry seals out the oxygen and stops the rust. For the parts of the frame that will be covered by the belly skins you can just use just POR15. For the parts of the frame that will be exposed to sunlight you have to put a top coat of paint over the POR15. I did the A frame and the back bumper on my 63 GT and intend to use it on the rest of the frame when I get into it. It is tough paint. I still have drops of it on my driveway after several years. Also be sure to buy their solvent to clean up with and use it quick if you get the paint on you. After it dries it won't come off till it wears off in a few days.
