[VAC] Re: Mudflaps



I observed a PU with some self made mud flaps that featured the use  
perforated angle steel found in most  hardware stores to construct a 
hanging frame for flaps .  A strip of this was  attached to each of the 
open ends of the  receiver  by a bolt going thru only one side  the 
receiver and thus tightening  nut was on the inside end of receiver.  The 
metal extended out about 24" and had a brace at the end that extendied up 
and bolted to bottom of  the bumper.  To this  frame was attached a 
commercially made mud flap.  Works and looks well, Cost for hanger was 
less then $5.00 plus cost of flaps.  Have "heard" for similar methods 
wherein platic and aluminum tubing have been used in somewhat similar 
manner.
