[VAC] Re: Mudflaps
I observed a PU with some self made mud flaps that featured the use
perforated angle steel found in most hardware stores to construct a
hanging frame for flaps . A strip of this was attached to each of the
open ends of the receiver by a bolt going thru only one side the
receiver and thus tightening nut was on the inside end of receiver. The
metal extended out about 24" and had a brace at the end that extendied up
and bolted to bottom of the bumper. To this frame was attached a
commercially made mud flap. Works and looks well, Cost for hanger was
less then $5.00 plus cost of flaps. Have "heard" for similar methods
wherein platic and aluminum tubing have been used in somewhat similar
manner.
