[VAC] Re: Invertors / transformers

The 14.4 volts probably means 12 cells of NiCd. Charging voltage is more
like 17.4 volts.

Can't be sure about the Sony.
Note book computer 19 volts, way above the 12 volts of a loaded 12 volt
battery.

Cordless phone, maybe. If it truly runs on 12 volts DC from the walwart
then you should be able to connect it to the trailer 12 volt battery.
But be careful, its the walwart output is 12 volts AC there will be
great deals of smoke spewed from the cordless phone base unit when
connected to 12 volts DC, probably.

Same thing for the message machine, though it probably needs a voltage
regulator to give it 9 volts.

Radio shack does sell an adjustable voltage car adapter for portable
devices with inputs of 3 to 12 volts. Some include an assortment of
coaxial power connectors, to select polarity and size, and have a switch
to select the output voltage.

The 14.4 volt drill would work well from the trailer battery with a cord
replacing the batteries. But then there's that cord to hassle with.
