[VAC] Capetown to Cairo in "09"

There is a pipedream, to organize a 50 year anniversary, Capetown to
Cairo caravan.  I think it is totally impossible, unless in the next few
years, the messiah returns, and the Lion lies down with the lamb.   In
7 of the 12 countries along the route through darkest of Africa, there
now wages low levels or medium levels of war, between rebels or
insurrgents, and what is recognized as the established Government.   Any
American Convoy of mostly white Airstreamers would be a  tempting
target.   Hostages for ransom, or just to steal the tow vehicles, so the
rebels could convert them into "Technicals", would be a good reason.
The State Department has issued warnings about travel in most of those
countries.  In the country of Sudan, least you forget so quickly, they
are still rebuilding the Aspirin factory that our former president
bombed for no reason.   The roads are still just about as bad as they
were in 1959.  Islamic fundamentalists are anxious to cause any kind of
trouble to "The Great Satan".  2009 is 8 years away, and many things
could change in those few years.  I don't think "Peace in Africa" will
be one of those changes, unless of course, Jesus comes back, and makes
peace for us.   For those that would like to go, and find "Sponsors", to
put together such an Adventure, I wish the best of Luck.
