[VAC] '68 A/S Tradewind Shocks

Jim,

No, I don't, but I'd be willing to bet that your shocks are the same as
mine. My original takeoffs had an old Delco part number which could not be
crossed but a sharp, knowledgeable, motivated young NAPA counter salesman
who I always patronize dug through his manuals for awhile, miked my original
shocks, then disappeared into the backroom for a minute, and came out with
the NAPA Chevy parts. They came with the upper and lower bushings, new
washers and nuts.

If you think about what we know about Wally Byam, it stands to reason that
whenever possible WB used standard, readily available parts for his
trailers. What would have been more common and more readily available than
shock absorbers from a 1/2 Chevy pickup?

After I discovered that solution, I became aware that someone on the list
(maybe Wayne Moore?) had discovered the same solution several years earlier
and it was posted somewhere. I can't remember where now.............I've
learned so many things and become aware of so many sources of information
and parts on these lists in such a short period of time that I am
overwhelmed and can't remember where I have seen all of it.
