Hi, Everyone! I
enjoyed Hunter's List, but it was too big and just not VINTAGE!!! I am SO
glad to see this List up again and thank those of you who are doing it - Thank
You!!!
Anyway, I have sold ALL my
trailers, the pipe frame, the 67 Safari, the ten foot 62 Shasta with wings and
my 75/76 Argosy and am the very happy owner of a 28' rear bedroom 76/77 Argosy
in MINT condition with a brown & orange striped Zip Dee awning and carpeted
screen room. Everything original and beautiful.
It seems loaded compared to
my old 26' one - it's every bit as fancy as any Airstream I've ever been
in. Was that just the way Airstream made the biggest Argosys or were there
extra options? This one has gorgeous wall vinyl, stainless steel stove and
oven, beautiful fabrics for rear twin bumpers around the beds and the bed
covers, silk-looking drapes fore and aft, fancy tri-colored shag carpet, fancy
couch fabric, fancy orange trim on the exterior and the COOLEST Argosy wheel
hubs with the Argosy logo in orange in the center of each hub.
I had to miss Harper's
Ferry due to a family wedding but sure look forward to the next shindig
reasonably close to my rural NY location.
Because this new Argosy is
so perfect, I have nothing to do to it - imagine THAT! :) BUT, I
decided to take some wonderful vintage barkcloth curtains and hang them OVER the
existing sliding drapes just for a change of decor. I put small drape
hangers The ones shaped like an upside-down small-case "u") in the back of the
barkcloth curtains and simply hung them over the top of the original
drapes.
AND, in case anyone else
didn't know, Camping World sells the Airstream drape sliders - they are shaped
like a spackling trowel if you were to lay them down flat on a table, and they
come with the elastics to attach to your drapes.
Yours in Airstream Vintage
Fun,
Elisa - 76/77
