Re: [VAC] Refrig. rebuild shop in N. Cal?
Hello all-
Well this past weekend I was checking out my Dometic in our new
Airstream...both gas and electric checked out, they made ice cubes in less
than 12 hours! I was very excited about the fact that a 31 year old refrig.
could do this, in fact, I was kind of looking forward to posting a note to
Bill saying "ha, mine works great" (all in good fun of course, you might
recall that sometime ago Bill said he can't stand it when people say their
original VAC refrigs work perfectly). Probably because of this malicious
intention, the gods took a pin to my refrig's coils(?), on the third day of
operation I began to smell a bit of ammonia.
I looked in the archives and called rvmobile who seemed to be the authority
on this type of thing and they said that they wouldn't touch it (not that I
was going to send it up to WA anyway) because it was too old. It seems to be
in great shape and so I don't anticipate that I will be plagued by repairs
once I get this leak fixed. Which brings me to my question- Does anyone know
of a good refrigerator repair shop in N. California? Help I need cold beer!
Thanks-
