Re: [VAC] waste tanks

John and Jodi, It is hard to say when black tanks, ie, a toilet with
tank, became standard. Some toilets were available in the forties. In
the early fifties, the smaller coaches did not have toilets, but by the
mid fifties, most of the coaches over 16 feet had a toilet. By 1957,
many of the 18 ft coaches and larger had a toilet and shower and water
at the sink and kitchen. In many cases, Mid fifties coaches had toilets
and black tanks installed later, because, a little toilet and shower is
very handy when on the road. Grey tanks are another story. Grey
tanks were not installed as standard, until 1974.
