You could try this:  I've used WD40 on house windows to soften up splashes
after painting frames.  Ya' have to let it sit for a while.  The sun or some
heat helps;  & I'll admit the cleanup after is a bit messy - have to wash
the windows several times to remove the greasiness.  But it worked.
