Doug,
 The 4-5 amps (as measured by the stock AirStream meter) was with all 4
bulbs lit. However, that's the way you generally use it, as the lights
are nearly useless with only one or 2 bulbs on. The flourescent lights
barely make the A/S meter move at all, compared to the old fixtures.

And, the new fixtures give at least as much light, maybe more.
