	I had the same problem just before leaving Ashland.  I went to the local
locksmitch and, as luck would have it, he had a complete assembly brand new
and was asking $165.  I got him down to $150 by pointing out that he had
been holding the unit in inventory for five year.

I suppose that a lock could go up from $165 to $550 in five years but last I
heard we were not in an inflationary time.  I think you are being
overcharged.
