Thanks Ray, ,,,,,,,,,I have always questioned those so-called safety
hoops.
They don't seem to make much sense to me.  They are not on all single
axle Airstreams, and I think they are an "After-thought", by some one.
It seems to me, the hoop would hit rocks or drag on uneven surfaces
while on mountain roads.  Finally, please don't weld anything on that
axle.   That square tube is filled with rubber torsion bands and should
not be heated.   Just my 2 cents.
