[VAC] '54 Tradewind update (sorta kinda)

In your best Ace Ventura imitation, exclame loudly "A-A-ALLLLL RRRIGHTYY THEN
!" When I got to work today, (oops I said that nasty four letter "w" word on
this list.) ( Is it ok to say the "w" word on this list? {{{>:o)> ) I
transgress, ahem... When I got to w#*k today there was a big fat envelope on
my desk. It is now official ; The numbers 5384 are going back on the only
trailer they've ever been on. However the remnants of the old stickers are
gonna have to do service until I get to the polishing. I'm not removing
sticker goo twice. Now for some crappy
news.....It has been raining so much in "usta be sunny So. Cal" , that in a
flood fear induced delearium, I built an ark under my '54TW. I really don't
care for sailing but, I like drowning less. After building the ark, the rain
quit coming down so hard and my neighbors house had not floated away. At
least I did not have to worry about "my house" floating away because it is
made of brick. I realized the foolishness of what I had done and started to
disassemble the ark while feeling pretty stupid about myself...sigh... then
the animals started showing up at my house......in pairs......male...and
female......I was bummed. So I rebuilt the ark.
The ark was only big enough for me , my cat ,and my
sheppard puppy. So I don't know where all them other animals thought they
where goin' , but they wern't goin' with me. Suddenly the weather man
informed me that it would quit raining and the aminals would go away by
morning. I hoped so.
In the morning I got good news from the chrome shop ...parts were done...YES!
When I went outside the sun was shining and the animals where gone and
somebody had disassembled the ark from under my Tradewind. I went to the
chromer and made a few more stops for parts here and there to finish
rebuilding the light fixtures. I spent that evening watching Star Trek vidios
while rebuilding the interior and exterior light fixtures. The inside
fixtures look way cool all shiney and new. I just had to attach them to a
lamp cord so I could fire 'em up. They look great! Totally 50's. Can't wait
to put 'em back in the trailer. The outside lights got the update treatment
with new sockets and hand made rubber gaskets. I put a new socket in the
tail/lisence plate light so it now has a brake light also. I also made the
rear side marker lights so they opreate as turn signals and marker lights. The
front lights have the original amber glass lenses . One of the rear red glass
lenses was broken and missing some of the glass,so I replaiced them both with
plastic lenses 'till I find another glass lense. One of the tail lights was
broken but had no chips or missing pieces,so I super glued them together.
Can't tell unless you look really close. I also lined the backplate of the
tail lights with crumpled foil. That is all I have accomplished
on the '54 since the last long winded obnoxiuos drivel I spewed all over this
list. I am about half
done cleaning out the barn so I can put the TW inside before I finish
removing the interior. I will be able to remove the body and sleep well at
night knowing the evil Santa Ana winds won't be blowing the unbolted shell of
my tin twinkie against my house and smashing it to bits. Well I'm
starting to bore my self with boring you so until I have the urge to binge
and purge all over my keyboard and your monitor..........Trike #5384
