After all the work getting my wheels squared away, see the wheels thread above, there was still a rough ride to contend with. I thought the sometimes harsh ride was due to the old hard truck suspension. Possibly agrivated by faulty shocks. After removing one front and one rear shock I noticed the axles had less than one inch of travel available until the shock would be fully collapsed. That should make for a firm ride over any kind of rough surface. Looking up shocks by application 67 Ford p400/4000 motorhome chassis did not work. The Bilstein spec book is not very adaquite for looking up shocks by specifications either. So it looks like Monroe's will have to do. I am trying to find a shock that will provide three and a half inches of movement above and below the standing mount position. I have located a couple of promising numbers to check out.
