Safe to work on the floor? Asbestos?

Hello everyone, Pretty simple question actually-- Is there asbestos in the flooring, paper, and black tar adhesive? Does anyone know? I was in process of sanding my subfloor when I found the warning on my new carton of flooring. warning of asbestos hazards in old flooring and NOT to sand. I need to know..... I dont know if the flooring was standard or changed through the years, but I Own a 1970 Duke. Any Help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks, Chad
