Getting ready for the Nebraska rally

I have had some work done on the '65 Streamline before starting in to repolish the trailer prior to going up to Nebraska for the Royal Rovers rally in September.

Clearance had been a problem with the trailer, especially after having the gray water tank added. At some RV parks, I found that the sewage almost had to flow uphill. To solve the problem, I had the axles flipped, and gained probably about 4-5 inches more clearance. Following is a shot of the trailer after the operation.

The furnace vent had been chromed several years ago in Los Angeles, but the job was not done very well, and the chrome had started to peel. I had the vent re-chromed, and this time the vent was re-attached to the trailer by Rick Borden or Borden Country RV in Longview, Texas with Olympic rivets. Sure looks good, and points out that I indeed do need to repolish the trailer, doesn't it ? The remains of the duct tape that I had covering the hole can be seen, and will be removed before polishing.

I had the coupler for the trailer replaced and updated for a 2 5/16 inch ball. Also replaced the single safety chain with heavier dual chains, and a heavier breakaway cable. These can be seen in the following photo.
