It rained so much the first part of January, we packed up and headed to the Valley for a month. It is quite nice here. The weather has been near perfect so far. We keep busy with activities in the park and visiting with our Royal Rover friends who are wintering in the Valley.

Today, Jan 24th was the annual Royal Rover luncheon at Harold's Country Kitchen in Donna, TX. There were 22 members present and we all had a good time chatting and catching up on the latest news.  A note of gratitude to Bob & Edna Carey for making the arrangements for our luncheons the past three years. Plans are being made to return January 23, 1999 at 11:30 at the same location. Mark your calendars now.

The Lone Star Chapter lost another dear friend and member when Louis Lange #3198 passed away January 17. We express our condolences to Rachel.

Remember to keep on the lookout for new members. As we lose members we want to recruit new ones.
