We also have a 1977 Contintental Supreme. How did you repaint the missing
gold? All the 77 lost there gold trim due to a change they tried in the
bonding process. We used rustoleum gold and it worked pretty well. We have
the manual that came with it if you ever have a question about the inner
workings.

Ours was also in good shape when we bought it...lots of new things installed
like floor, new flooring, new curtians, new stainless water tank, new
furnace, etc. Since we have had it we replaced the air conditioner and the
horrible old sofa bed (with a new futon) and the toilet ( which was working
fine but I hated the idea of a 25 year old toilet) and put in an on demand
water system. The only thing that did not work well is the 8 track player.

Eveyone always wants to see ours in the parks as well. We always draw
attention. Of course these days in lots of the parks we are the tiny
trialer. Last time we were in AZ we were between two million dollar rigs.

We also like the space, especially in the bathroom ( we have the rear bath
and the twin beds). I have been in some trailers where you literally had to
back your butt up to the toilet.

Welcome to the group.

Hi Barbara and Boogie, welcome to the group. We have owned our 77 SS for
about 4 years now and love it.. We used Krylon gold paint on ours and it
looks good and lasts quite a while. I'm assuming your gold trim was a
problem also. There is a group of SS owners that still get together aound
the Houston area I think. Tom Patterson would know for sure. Let me know
if I can answer any questions. Carl Rodgers

Hi Carl,
Thanks for the info. Our gold still is in great shape. The people before
us kept it in an airplane hanger and we keep it under shed so the outside
is like new, for an old trailer. Are we able to post pictures on the
list? I have a pretty good one of the outside of ours.

We have the twin rear beds. The original floor plan has two swivel captians
chairs in the front. We replaced the old sofa bed that the original owned
had replaced those chairs with with a really nice futon that is comfortable
to sit on an available as another bed if needed. So far no need. No
grandkids yet. But we have our fingers crossed...lol

Hi Everyone, Regarding pictures... I don't know if you can post pictures
in your replies, but Tom Patterson has what's becoming a great archive of
SS Pictures at:
http://www.tompatterson.com/Silverstreak/Pictures/Units.html. I'm not
sure how you get pictures posted there, but Tom - (if you're
listening...) could you let us know how to get the pictures on your site?
Also, if you want some pics of a 1958 SS Jet (very much like the '55 you
have there now) you're welcome to 'steal' any worthy pictures from
http://www.thesl8s.com/silverstreak and add them to your collection. It
would be very cool to have a full range of Silver Streaks from over the
years all on one site! Hope this helps- Steve

Ours is the same. Only thing is we only have one chair and couch. One gc
lives here with us and the other 7 are around alot. LOL
We are having a problem with the ice box. The check light will come on and
when it does the refrig will quit cooling. Any suggestions? Most
everything else is in great shape. A few little odds and ends but I guess
we all have that.
