We plan on living in it after we sell our home in Victorville and move to Topock, Az. while our new home is being built. Hopefully this process will not take too long, we have been told 3-4 months. I am hoping to find enough parts and info to restore this trailer to excellent condition. After construction has been completed it will serve as a guest house for when we have visitors or on the occasion we want to travel and visit. I look forward to being a member of this group and hope that I too can help, in some way, someone along the way. Thank you for having me as a member. Sincerely, Bill Schmid aka 5150 (C.B. handle) ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 14 Sep 2003 20:52:28 -0500 From: Ros <ros@xxxxxxxxxx.com> Subject: Re: [SilverStreak] New Member Hi Bill, Congratulations on your Silver Streak. It is said that it is the finest trailer ever made. What model S.S., is it, Bill? Not that I have any but what parts are you looking for? Maybe I can keep an eye open for them. I wish that there was a place for all of the list members to post pictures of their trailers. I would be very interested in seeing the member's trailers both from the exterior to the interior. We bought it sight unseen on ebay last year and love it. We have not had to do any remodeling on the things you see because they were all in really good shape. The cabinets and drawers are all in excellent condition. We did put in a new toilet just on principal and as of last week got a new carrier airv air conditioner. The old one worked, but it was on its last legs and we wanted to replace it before we took a trip in the hot weather and have it conk out on us on a trip. If any one needs a new one...I would highly recommend this one. Also just put in a new futon sofa to replace the sofabed that was about 20 years old. We did put in an on demand pump which really improved things. So far, we have not had too much trouble having work done on the guts...all we really had to do was replace the twist locks on the black and grey water valves. We are probably going to be taking out the folding dining table that is attached to the wall. We also have the two leaves that came with it. Only reason we are thinking about taking it out is that the new futon comes out further from the wall then the old one did and we need a table that can be placed directly in front of the futon. If we do take it out and you need a table, let us know. Good luck with the streak. We moved from Orange County to New Mexico. You will love it here in the southwest. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Tom Patterson" <tomp@xxxxxxxxxx.com> To: <sslist@xxxxxxxxxx.com> Sent: Sunday, September 14, 2003 7:30 PM Subject: [SilverStreak] New Member > Forwarded message: > > From: "WILLIAM SCHMID" <5150xxxxxx> > To: "sslist" <sslist@xxxxxxxxxx.com> > Subject: New Member > Date: Sun, 14 Sep 2003 17:46:37 -0700 > > Hello Everyone, > My name is Bill Schmid, I reside in Victorville, Ca. and recently my wife, > Anna and I, purchased a 1974 Silver Streak 32' that is in fair condition. What do you pull it with? Did you send pictures of it through the list? If so, I don't think they propagate.
