Now that LED's are coming down in price and are available in more an more forms it should soon be practical to light your RV with them for even greater power saving for the amount of light you get. I use propane for the refrigerator and all of my interior lights are flourescent. I believe they use about 1/3 of the battery power. I also use a catalytic heater that is piped into the gas system. This keeps the trailer nice a warm on the coolest of mountain mornings in the summer. As a matter of fact, my RV mechanic friend says that 12 volt refrigerators cause lots of problems including draining the battery quite fast. Using solar panels helps keep the battery charged while remote camping too, especially when you are in direct sun. ------------------------------ End of Silver Streak Digest V1 #181 *********************************** ----------------------------------------------------------------- When replying to a message, please delete all unnecessary Digest text To unsubscribe or change to an e-mail format, please go to http://www.tompatterson.com/Silverstreak/List/listoffice.html
