Ours was not on the tongue, but on a little plaque on the side. If I had to quess, I would say 7203 was the third unit built in 1972. That would be logical. But I think the owner said it was a 76 or 77. We have a 77, for sure. If the owner has any questions, we might be able to help. Harriet, Thanks for replying. We are nearly 100% certain that we have a '79. There is a small chance that it is a '74, but we really are leaning more towards it being a 79. Either of those years doesn't quite match your explanation, since the number inside the refrigerator cabinet is 7208. Your explanation makes a lot of sense, but it just doesn't fit with the year we think the trailer is. However, if the number is what you suggest (the manufacture date), then I'd say that's a pretty definitive answer to our question about which year our trailer is! I don't know if your reasoning behind the 7203 number is a valid assumption or not. I don't know about the Silver Streak numbers, but the Streamline ones were merely sequential, and signified nothing in particular. Each unit was just one number higher than the preceeding one. Since Streamline was produced by one of the original Silver Streak owners, it is certainly possible that the Silver Steak numbering was similar. - -Tom - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Harriet Kaufman-Collett" <dochk@xxxxxxxxxx.com> To: <sslist@xxxxxxxxxx.com> Sent: Thursday, March 03, 2005 9:56 AM Subject: Re: [SilverStreak] Hidden unit number? > Ours was not on the tongue, but on a little plaque on the side. For what it's worth, I think the site is great as is Tom's Web page, I continue to appreciate Tom and his efforts to bring any information available to us Silver Trailer owners. As for removing from the list, I have removed several times when I was going away for long periods of time and the re-subscribed when I got back. No problem at all in doing so. Hello all, I've finally gotten around to addressing the plumbing in this old beauty and am unable to find the answer. Hope you can help. On our '79 (?) model 3200 Continental Supreme there are 3 water valves in a row fore to aft in the converter compartment. One connects off the city water inlet and goes to the water pump, although I can't figure this out as you only need the pump when using the tank. This is the foremost valve. The middle valve again connects off the city water cold line and then disappears into the floor (gray tank?), the aft most valve connects off the hot water line and again disappears into the floor (gray tank?). I am wondering why this configuration. If I'm correct about the two valves dumping into the gray waste, I THINK the middle valve is to empty the cold water lines when winterizing (?) and the aft valve is to drain the water heater (?). ANY insight and/or diagrams would certainly help. I've been all over the website email archives and the message board with only one reference to this and no details. Some bozo replaced sections of copper here and there with garden hose and clamps, and we're redoing the whole thing in PEX. Any opinions or advice regarding this would also be appreciated.
