Carolyn,

I just purchased a 1983 SS 3411 and would love to talk to you and your
husband about different things related to renovation if possible.

Could you email me a phone number and a time that I might be able to
contact you at.

Thanks
Shawn

We have a 1983 SS 3411. We took the original refrigerator out as it doesn't
work. If anyone needs any parts from it they may have them. All the inside
plastic is ok and the shelves have some corrosion but I imagine can be
cleaned.

Also my husband replaced the axles because we could not find the magnets, but
the axles, brakes, hubs, and new bearings are ok.

If anyone needs these items or anything from them let us know, you can have
them. If they are small will mail, just send the postage, if they are large
you will need to get them.

We live north of Houston Texas.

No problem. He will be home awhile we think. He finished a project and
isn't working right now, well except on our house. We are adding a garage
and 2 bathrooms.

Tom, has work to do on ours yet and don't know when we will get it done.
There is a soft spot by the commode so we have to fix the floor there. He
took the jacks off ours and fixed them and we ordered new inside lights and
put them up. He put the new axles on, brakes and all. A new piece of
paneling needs to go in the kitchen and a new countertop. This one doesn't
leak or anything we can see, I think the paneling got ruined from the window
having condensation on it through the years, but he hasn't had time to
finish it and don't know when he will. I am more charmed with this old
trailer than he is I think. But he likes working on things so we will get it
finished.

Call anytime between 6AM and 7PM. Our number is 281-363-3318. If he
doesn't have specific information he may have general. I sent copies of our
manuals to Tom Patterson and he put them online if that helps any.

Carolyn Frederick

Just thought you might enjoy seeing my recently purchased SS 3411.

I also have a little interior work to do. I would like to know what it takes
to replace the lighting. I am assuming that it is a simple drop, unwire,
wire and reattach process. If not let me know. (You and your husband will be
like a guide manual for me. Seeing that you will have been there and done that,
far more than I have.)

By the way, what does your husband do. I own a consulting company which
specializes in Program and Project Management, Large Initiative Management and
Strategic and Tactical Management.

Thanks

Yes my husband said that is all you have to do with the lighting is just
what you said.

I researched on the net and the very same company is still in business that
manufactured the lights. You can buy ballast, bulbs, etc. We bought all
new lights except for one or two which I may have to buy instead of getting
the parts. They were much cheaper directly from the manufacturer than from
the RV store. I think we saved $10 a light if I remember correctly.

My husband has worked for KBR, Halliburton for 15 years. He was a
Superintendent/Project Mgr for Highway Paving. They closed that divison
several years ago and he went with another division on a project in Camaroon
and then Chad Africa. After the project finished he was laid off, first
time in 15 years! But then they sent him to Pensacola to work on the naval
base after the hurricane tore it up. That part is complete so laid off
again. This is sort of like it was way back early in our marriage. We were
talking today that if he tries and stay with them looks like each time a
project is finished now it will be layoff, nothing is the same as it was
with KBR. He is looking possibly at Dijbouti, Nigeria, maybe Angola for
other projects. He only has about 7 years to retire, not sure if he is
going to try and hang in a few more years or what. Right now he is home and
we are working on stuff here. I am an accountant, worked for construction
companies in poject management jobs for about 10 years, haven't worked in
about 6. Had a elderly sick mom and we have a mentally challenged daughter
who also got very sick so had to quit. But everything is fine.

What type of jobs do you deal with?

If we can help will be glad to. We have had several RV's through the years.
