Hello all!

We are so excited to belong to this list - we have just purchased a 70's
model SS 3200 Continental Supreme and are so excited to get busy with a
few repairs and upgrades! We are Bryan and Tami Crockett, and we love
going camping. Our two favorite places to go are Southern Utah areas
(especially Zion's) and Yellowstone. We hope soon to get to Yosemite and
someday a summer trip to Alaska. Bryan is an IT specialist, and I am a
critical care nurse. We have 4 girls, all who love the outdoors, and our
most enjoyable time of the year is the annual camping family reunion in
Grand Targhee National Forest. Our first trailer was a real clunker -
aluminum sided that had had some roof leaks above the refrigerator - we
spent considerable time repairing and upgrading that trailer - almost all
DIY. It turned out great, and we are sorry to see it go. However, after
the experience of "gettin' in and gettin' our hands dirty" we decided that
a riveted aircraft constructed trailer was going to be our next purchase,
so we started looking at Airstreams, but weren't happy with the
construction of the ones we looked at.

We discovered and fell in love with the charm and construction of Silver
Streaks last year, but were just able to find one (in great shape!) and
make a deal on it this week. Our kids are tickled pink - they love the
idea of having a shiny "silver and gold" TT. We are tickled pink about
the solid construction. There is some discrepancy as to the year of
manufacture: the title says '74, the owner said '78, but it looks like it
could be as late as '79 from looking at all the pictures on line. We know
it isn't a '77 as the gold is in great condition. Does anyone on this
list have any insight as to coding on the serial numbers? The serial
number on the stamp plate is "7RTFA-S790". There is also an RVI
registered number which is 1100679. I don't know if these numbers are of
any help, but if you know of any way to do this research, we welcome any
and all suggestions.

We also are interested in obtaining a copy of an owner's manual from
anyone willing to copy theirs (once we find out the correct year! ) We of
course would send a SASE and money for copying and time.

Our first projects are going to be cleaning and polishing the exterior
(thanks to Mark George of Portland for his recommendations on the
discussion board - we are going to give the pressure washing a try),
cleaning the interior (it's been sitting a few years), and going over the
electrical systems, especially the 12v as it shows some problems (although
the monitor panel works beautifully!) The resources on Tom's website are
sure to be a big help. We are also not thrilled with the toilet and plan
to put in a Sealand ASAP.

We'll be sure to post some links to pictures as soon as we can, both
before and after. So, it's good to be here and we're looking forward to
great discussions!

Everyone should have kids. They are the greatest joy in the world. But
they are also terrorists. You'll realize this as soon as they are born,
and they start using sleep deprivation to break you.
