The belly pan is already open under the rear area where i might fit a combination grey/black holding tank but am not sure how it would fit nor the manner that it would be hung. The shower drain could come down to the trap and then into the end of a tank with the rest of the connections tying to the side of the toilet drain (as it was with the metal piping) which, i guess, could then drop right into the top of the tank. However i'm not sure how to control the odors that might then come directly up into the toilet when flushing. any thought would be appreciated. thank you, jim -) ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 3 Feb 2005 18:23:26 -0600 From: "Jim and Dorothy Dupree" <dottiedup@ev1.net> Subject: Re: [SilverStreak] Silver Streak inquiry As in most RV's the toilet will flush directly into the black water tank. The seal is made by the slide valve and in my case, I always leave a couple of inches of water in the bowl. It does allow some odor to come up through the toilet, but just for the second when flushing and is normally not a problem. The shower and sink really need a p-joint to keep the odors from coming out. You should already have a roof vent but I am not sure if it would vent the new holding tank. The holding tanks are held up by metal channel that is placed across the frame members, usually one on each end and one in the middle. This is not an easy upgrade and it really takes two people. A transmission jack or something similar is helpful to hold the new tank in place while working on it. I have replaced old tanks but have never started from scratch with a new one. This thing is low to the ground but i'll take a look-see and measure what it would take to add any kind of a holding tank. can they be ordered to fit? thanks very much again, jim -) ------------------------------ End of Silver Streak Digest V1 #134 *********************************** ----------------------------------------------------------------- When replying to a message, please delete all unnecessary Digest text To unsubscribe or change to an e-mail format, please go to http://www.tompatterson.com/Silverstreak/List/listoffice.html
