I hope that this one becomes successful as Tom has put a lot of effort in creating it. I and my wife Dorothy have a 1985 SS Supreme Mod. 3411 We have had it for about 4 years after totaling our 1976 airstream that we had for 12 years. We recently sold our home and after 42 years of marriage we are now fulltimers for a few years. A recent 5500 mile trip to Branson, Nashville and then out to Camp Lejuene, N.C. to see our Marine son, we encountered only one other SS. We did have a 1953 Avion camp next to us and it was unlivable the similarities in it and the SS. With exception of the name I could not tell the difference.. We will try the daily SS list, but as we are accessing the internet via cell phone, we may have to go to the weekly digest. We usually are only on the net at night after 9pm and weekends due to the free minutes. Hope this first message is not too long. You can view our rig by going to Toms web page, then Silver Streak then "other" "Dupree Coach" Looking forward to hearing from other SS owners. Did you visit the Roy Rogers/Dale Evans Museum in Branson, Mo.? I may be able to help you with a suggestion for internet connection on the road. My wife and I are team truck drivers and run the I-5 corridor. I have been connecting on the road since June of 2001 using my cellular. I am a Nextel subscriber and have used their wireless web to access email and many wireless web sites right on my phone. In January I purchased a Laptop and have used their Packet Stream Gold service to access the full spectrum of the web (in fact this message was composed while traveling through Washington State), all without using any cellular minutes. The cost is less than most other plans, unlimited access, and runs close to the speed of a 56k modem on a hard line. The only draw back is the Nextel system coverage. If you have any questions feel free to contact me direct 5150-n-flipper@xxxxxxxxxx.com I will be happy to help if I can. I know this got off the subject of the SS list but, connecting on the road is relevant, is it not? We are using Verizon with Mobile Office and get good coverage and service in most areas we have been. We do utilize the free nights and weekends for most of our inernet use. We also belong to a great Silver Streak Club which meets monthly at the Coushatte RV Ranch down at Sealy/Bellville, Texas. Our usual attendance is around 15-20 rigs of all ages. Do you have a SS and if so what year? I have been corresponding to James Thompson in Denver who is a Silver Streak owner, and is also a subscriber to this list. James is planning to visit the Houston area during the first quarter of 2004. I have told him about the Coushatte Silver Streak rallies, and he is interested in attending. I spoke to Bob Ashby the other day, and Bob tells me that y'all meet on the fourth week-end of each month, so there is a good chance that James may be able to attend either the February or the March meeting in 2004. Of interest to others on the list. The Houston club, which meets there is, according to Bob Ashby, the last remaining Silver Streak club in the country. Just another note, the Houston Streamline Royal Rovers club, to which I belong, also meets at Coushatte, but on the 3rd week-end of the month. Thus we never do get to meet or see any of the Silver Streaks, except once a year in October, when the Silver Streaks move their meeting weekend up a week to avoid a local and noisy bluegrass festival at the RV Ranch. Sadly, this year I will be attending a Royal Rovers rally in Phoenix, so will not get to see any of the Silver Streaks. - -Tom > > We also belong to a great Silver Streak Club which meets monthly at the > Coushatte RV Ranch down at Sealy/Bellville, Texas.
