There is certainly some interest in the newsletter, but I wouldn't want to assume that everyone on the list wants an additional Silver Streak-related e-mail. Also, because the newsletter will be an attachment, I wouldn't want to bog down the Digest with it. I think to begin with I'll just build a list based on expressed interest. That way, the Digest format won't be confused with the newsletter, and the Digest can continue on as the great, interactive back and forth venue that it is. I really appreciate your interest -- it's been a blast putting this together. > Date: Sun, 15 Aug 2004 19:12:35 -0700 > From: Marian & Hounds <vistadel@xxxxxxxxxx.net> > Subject: Re: [SilverStreak] Re: Silver Streak Digest V1 #102 > > Jamie, > > I can send you my individual email, or since you've gotten quite a > raft of interested owners, maybe you could post it to this list - > afterall, it's list appropriate, and we could all get it and you > wouldn'tneed to do individual posts. After all we all have a delete key if we do not want to open it. I for one am interested in what you find out. I hope one day to be able to go to a rally of SS's. That would be so much fun! The list will not accept any attachments to e-mail postings. They are automatically stripped from any messages sent to the list. This is a precautionary measure to prevent any viruses from being transmitted to list members. - -Tom - ----- Original Message ----- From: <kugger@xxxxxxxxxx.net> To: <sslist@xxxxxxxxxx.com> Sent: Monday, August 16, 2004 8:19 AM Subject: [SilverStreak] Re: Silver Streak Digest V1 #103 > That's a good thought, Marian -- but I'm hesitant to go down that road. We've towed our '79 31' Supreme Saturn to Tennessee, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming and South Dakota in the last few weeks. No problems at all. :-) Then we towed our '52 Spartanette 40' park model from Oregon to north Idaho. Full of our stuff; 9,730# on trailer axles. Had to be well over 10K#. Whew! Blew out one tire just west of Newport WA, shredded tire and wrecked the wheel. No spare (of course! <:-( ) but we had just passed an antique car junkyard a half mile back, so the next morning were able to find a couple of old 6 on 6" - 16" pickup truck wheels identical to the wheels on the Spartan for $10 each with one good tire of the same exact type as the other tires on the trailer!! Has anyone used stainless steel wool? Al G. Yes, I would do the whole trailer. Also, almost any non-water based agent would be OK to flush off the particles as you dislodge them while rubbing. Water would speed up any corrosion due to dissimilar metals. So would acids or caustic solutions.
