I've changed tires using this ramp without unloading horses so it works and saves time, trouble, etc. I assume (which often spells trouble) that this will work for my Silver Streak also although i have the ramp but have never used it for this trailer. This system also allows the off-two tires to remain on the ground and the trailer to remain hitched up for safety purposes. Anyone else using this system? thanks much and be safe! jim -) ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 11 Aug 2004 10:59:46 -0400 From: kugger@xxxxxxxxxx.net Subject: [SilverStreak] Re: Silver Streak Digest V1 #99 Thanks for the input. I don't suppose anybody lucky enough to have a manual for a similar model might be willing to scan (even a digital picture would probably do the trick) in the page on jacking and sending my way? I've never jacked up anything that large -- so I'm not sure what similar to a truck really means. Niave, I know. Also -- on another topic, my day job includes writing and desktop publishing. I've been thinking of putting together a Silver Streak newsletter in PDF format, basically, a way of documenting what I learn about these great trailers into an easy to read format. Be a good way to kill time on my 1.5 hour train commute. Would that be of interest to anyone? I'll probably produce it for myself, anyway, just for fun -- but I'd be happy to put folks on a distribution list if you're at all interested. Also, it would be great if folks would like to contribute articles and photos from your adventures! So far, my adventures consist of admiring my beautiful Sabre as it sits slightly off balance in my driveway and imagining the fun we'll have!!! - ----- Original Message ----- From: sslist-admin@xxxxxxxxxx.com (Silver Streak Digest) Date: Wednesday, August 11, 2004 1:30 am Subject: Silver Streak Digest V1 #99 Return-path: <domo@xxxxxxxxxx.com> Received: from mta24.srv.hcvlny.cv.net (mta24.srv.hcvlny.cv.net [167.206.5.185]) by mstr1.srv.hcvlny.cv.net (iPlanet Messaging Server 5.2 HotFix 1.25 (built Mar 3 2004)) with ESMTP id <0I29005LZOO477@mstr1.srv.hcvlny.cv.net> for kugger@xxxxxxxxxx.net; Wed, 11 Aug 2004 01:31:16 -0400 (EDT) Received: from tompatterson.propagation.net (tompatterson.propagation.net [66.221.219.253]) by mta24.srv.hcvlny.cv.net (iPlanet Messaging Server 5.2 HotFix 1.25 (built Mar 3 2004)) with ESMTP id <0I2900DC9ONV1J@mta24.srv.hcvlny.cv.net> for kugger@xxxxxxxxxx.net (ORCPT kugger@xxxxxxxxxx.net); Wed, 11 Aug 2004 01:31:08 -0400 (EDT) Received: (from majordomo@localhost) by tompatterson.propagation.net (8.11.6p2/8.11.6) id i7B5U1a10477 for sslist-digest-outgoing; Wed, 11 Aug 2004 00:30:01 -0500 Date: Wed, 11 Aug 2004 00:30:01 -0500 From: sslist-admin@xxxxxxxxxx.com (Silver Streak Digest) Subject: Silver Streak Digest V1 #99 Sender: sslist-admin@xxxxxxxxxx.com To: sslist-digest@xxxxxxxxxx.com Errors-to: sslist-admin@xxxxxxxxxx.com Reply-to: sslist@xxxxxxxxxx.com Message-id: <200408110530.i7B5U1a10477@xxxxxxxxxx.propagation.net> MIME-version: 1.0 Content-type: TEXT/PLAIN Content-transfer-encoding: 7BIT Precedence: bulk Original-recipient: rfc822;kugger@xxxxxxxxxx.net Silver Streak Digest Wednesday, August 11 2004 Volume 01 : Number 099 - ----------------------------------------------------------------- When replying to a message, please delete all unnecessary Digest text To unsubscribe or change to an e-mail format, please go to http://www.tompatterson.com/Silverstreak/List/listoffice.html Topics in Today's Digest: [SilverStreak] Re: Silver Streak Digest V1 #98 RE: [SilverStreak] Re: Silver Streak Digest V1 #98 Re: [SilverStreak] Re: Silver Streak Digest V1 #98 Re: [SilverStreak] Re: Silver Streak Digest V1 #98 Re: [SilverStreak] Re: Silver Streak Digest V1 #98 Re: [SilverStreak] Re: Silver Streak Digest V1 #98 - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Tue, 10 Aug 2004 11:48:17 -0400 From: "Karen Barrett" <charli@xxxxxxxxxx.net> Subject: [SilverStreak] Re: Silver Streak Digest V1 #98 Jim said he thinks if not mistaken, jack it up right there on the axle close to the wheel ... just like with a truck -- you might want to wait for more answers, but that's his thinking... kb ----- Original Message ----- From: "Silver Streak Digest" <sslist-admin@xxxxxxxxxx.com> To: <sslist-digest@xxxxxxxxxx.com> Sent: Tuesday, August 10, 2004 1:30 AM Subject: Silver Streak Digest V1 #98 > > Silver Streak Digest Tuesday, August 10 2004 Volume 01 : Number 098 > > > > > ----------------------------------------------------------------- > When replying to a message, please delete all unnecessary Digest text > > To unsubscribe or change to an e-mail format, please go to > http://www.tompatterson.com/Silverstreak/List/listoffice.html > > Topics in Today's Digest: > > [SilverStreak] Greetings and a Question re: Jacking Up > > ---------------------------------------------------------------------- > > Date: Mon, 09 Aug 2004 14:56:07 -0400 > From: kugger@xxxxxxxxxx.net > Subject: [SilverStreak] Greetings and a Question re: Jacking Up > > My wife and I recently purchased a 1972 23' SS Sabre. I don't have time right now but remind me to look for the address of where to get them. The only gotcha is that you have to drill new holes in the new plates but that is easy by using the old ones as templates. Also, one should NOT try to use the leveling pads to jack up the trailer... that will cause damage. I don't suppose anybody lucky enough to have a manual for a similar model might be willing to scan (even a digital picture would probably do the trick) in the page on jacking and sending my way? I've been thinking of putting together a Silver Streak newsletter in PDF format, basically, a way of documenting what I learn about these great trailers into an easy to read format.
